Tolerating Tolerance

This is the last blog entry I shall make with an alliterative title and the last that has something to do with the content of the entry. From now on, I shall name my posts after songs that reflect the mood I'm in - and which might not have anything to do with the entry at all. Why? Because it's kind of cool, and fits into the whole entropy idea. If today's post was a song, it would be called "Everything Will Be All Right" - by the Killers. Right. Let's start. Tolerance is a fine line that separates calm and rage. It's proably the most important virtue of them all, and is essential to everyday living. Without it, we will be hating each other for petty differences that don't agree with us. It's one of the most fundamental things we as humans have to have. But when does tolerance stop? When someone crosses that uncrossable line? When hate envelops us? Or is it when a repetitive feeling causes us dismay and takes control of our thoughts? Maybe it's all three and more. Tolerance is what keeps us sane. It's what motivates us to achieve greater heights and is an inspiration to us all. If we as human beings can tolerate each other, even when we do infinitisimally small acts of stupidity, we shall all lead a much better and healthier life. But if we cannot, we have failed ourselves in keeping what's good, good. Tolerance. It costs nothing, yet it's worth so much.
