Dispicably Disgusting
In the words of the ever so wise and ever so beautiful Ksh, the lack of updates to my blog in recent times is dispicable, and down-right disgusting (emphasis on disgusting - say it with me, dis-GUST-ting, just like how Ksh says it). I apologise. I have been lured into the lair of the laziness lemur, but good shall prevail. (Hence this blog).
This post was made possible by Lee-Ann Naidoo, currently of the UK (Hi!), who, after her kind words about this site, has motivated me to spark a new entry. This is for you, Lee-Ann.
But where to begin? Let's start with the latest developements. I think that'll be better since it's what is most freshest in my mind.
Not two weeks ago, our town's child welfare orginisation had their annual Winter Fair. It was a major success, exceeding everyone's expectations as it reached it's goal of securing over one million rand worth of revenue. This money goes towards the development of social welfare in our friendly town. It creates jobs, protects kids and women who need to be protected, helps statutory victims, gives homes to abandoned kids, and helps cousel the community, including victims of HIV and AIDS. Well done! to everyone involved in making the fair an overwhelming success. And also a big-up to my team, who, I cannot thank enough.
This year, the Fotosynthesis stall at the Child Welfare Winter Fair consisted of Keshnee Mudaly, Teshiele Devprasad, Kamlin Moodley, Serena Thaver, Bhavnesh Ramdial, and myself. We were in charge of making all the exhibitor's ID badges. Without us, the stall holders wouldn't have been allowed entry into the ground ;) Just kidding. We also sold button-badges, keyrings (both of which were custom-made), and good ol' normal photographs. In the two days we had to sell our products, we made a very generous amount. And all for charity. My team suffered long hours with no pay. You got to hand it to these guys and girls; waking up as early as 7am in the cold winter mornings is just painful. Things would never have ran as smooth as they did without my team. Thanks guys. I appreciate it more than words could describe. (See you next year!)
In other news, I took on Incredible Connection (or is that Corruption?) and won. Viva! And it was quite a battle at that ... After nearly two months of bad customer-service; lies; deceit; and broken promises, enough was enough. I stopped dealing with the small people and went direct to head office. I had finally got word that they would give me my money back for the notebook computer I bought five months ago. I was thinking of posting my award-winning (self acclaimed), heart-wrenching email to head office for all to read, but I decided to give them a break. If you would like to read the email, I'd be delighted to email you a copy personally. Just leave a comment to this post. You can even use it as a template. Yes. I am that modest. It is a sin. :)
I think I've not written as much as I should have to cover up for the lost months of nothingness, but I am sleepy. So. Good night!
